Building Leaders for Greater China
Monday, 15 May, 2006
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
9:00am – 5:00pm
South China Morning Post and Hewitt Associates present a conference entitled “Building Leaders for Greater China” on Monday, 15 May, 2006.
With continued economic prosperity in the Greater China region, many companies are struggling to develop talent with the essential leadership to deliver business strategies. Companies need more leaders who can drive business results, inspire employees, and be role models for the organisational culture and values. This conference will explore what great organisations are doing to fill the leadership gap and develop talent for the future.
Panel discussions:
- CEO Panel. Focusing on developing senior leaders in Greater China, this discussion will cover the “business case” for leadership within an organisation – understanding what these CEOs have set out to achieve, why that is important, and the different ways they are finding to do it.
- HR Panel. This discussion will look at the challenges of developing “Middle Managers” in Greater China. How is HR responding to a shortage of leadership talent in the region by developing rather than acquiring talent? The HR Directors will discuss their internal leadership development strategies, and their impact on business.
Break-out Workshops:
- adidas. This session is aimed at companies who are interested in finding out more about putting together their first high potential programme in China. Hans Xin from adidas China will talk about their experience in this area, and the lessons learned from developing and launching a high potential program.
- Manulife. This session will be looking at company-wide Leadership Development, and May Wong, Assistant Vice President, Hong Kong, Manulife (International) Limited will be sharing some insights from their recent work in leadership. Find out how Manulife is executing its strategy of driving business results through Leadership Development.
- ASIMCO Technologies. Looking at Leadership Development in Greater China, one of the co-founders of ASIMCO Technologies, Michael Cronin, will share the company’s story, and the realignment of leadership direction that led to its turn around in fortunes.
